Moon Landing 101

Greetings and Salutations!

Hey there, now that you're really going on this Moon flight, you should probably have some experience with the method of finding a good place to land!  You will have to know how to manipulate coordinates on a Cartesian plane.  No, this has nothing to do with juggling luggage in the overhead - nor does it mean to "trip the light fantastic."  Rather you need to implement some mathematical magic.

If you're a novice (think newbie :), begin here for an introductory lesson on placing coordinates on an x and y axis. Take your time and discover this new way to map. Then practice your skill here.

If you're an experienced pilot (already know how to fly a Cartesian plane), then practice using your skills here.

Finally, if you're ready for the big time - and have already experienced the x and y of all this, then jump right to this Latitude-Longitude quiz.  Maybe you'll receive your degree(s).  Get it?

Carpe Diem!
Mrs. W
