Get Ready! Get Set! Go!
First up today - we'll begin with our Socratic circle of questions. Topic for the day comes from The Green Book by Walsh. Be prepared to dive into at least six layers of "why" to discover the reason everyone has to leave planet Earth.
Secondly - plan your agenda to be successful in preparing yourself for the Challenger Center.
Choices include:
1) Vocabulary Power Point, Crossword Puzzle or Memory Match Game - Create a challenge that uses the vocabulary you're learning for your Challenger Center Job. Then find a partner and try it out.
2) Challenge University. Complete one semester and move on toward graduation!
3) Mars Madness: Investigate games on Mars - and then invent one of your own. Write the directions and make a list of needed supplies. Use the information you learn about Mars' terrain, atmosphere, and gravity. Begin HERE. Select Mars Sports.
4) Build your Brain with Brain Bites. Add to your working memory about Mars. Choose 3 topics and then prepare a creative presentation to share your new information with the class. It could be Jeopardy, I have, Who Has? Other ideas?
5) Partner up to create your own Probe to investigate Mars. Be ready to give and receive instructions. You'll learn much about depending on another for success. If you completed this last week, choose another challenge.
6) Design a Mars rover. What kind of terrain will it need to traverse? What kind of power? Where will you store the payload of what you investigate? Once you have a blueprint ready, create a step-by-step plan for assembly.
7) Pick up a set of I have...slips that are all about the root "BENE" Put them in correct order and then ask me to check for accuracy.
8) Negotiate your own success. Let's meet to figure out the next best step for your brain!
Optional Brain Breaks are available at the conclusion of one of the above challenges. Check with Mrs. W.
Carpe Diem!
