1) EVERYONE:
Today is the day you check out the NASA patches here. Read the explanations of why each illustration, abbreviation, or slogan was included. Then create a patch that represents YOU. Your patch may be hand drawn, created in Paint, or creatively adapted with the drawing tools of MS Word. When you have posted your patch for the class to see, then begin to create a patch for our Mars Expedition. It should be a 2 inch circle.
2) CHOICE:
PLAY a game of football in space AND THEN post a comment that shares how satellites and spacecraft are able to stay in space. (Hint: Read the details and then begin the game.)
OR
PRINT a brainteaser, gather some buddies, and use your head! Share your results with Mrs. Walters at the end of the challenge!
OR
CREATE your own paper glider. Then, flight-test it and experiment with ways to improve the design.
3) EVERYONE:
WATCH the video on MARS. Challenge yourself to see what you know by completing the quiz.
4) CHALLENGE UNIVERSITY wants YOU. Please complete your next semester. Train your brain!

They are able to stay in orbit because of the amount of gravity on each planet or satelite. when you are on the earth it is regular. whe you are on mars it will carry the object farther. the same way with any other planet.

the gravity on the different planets effect the hang time of the ball.
I think the they use rockets to keep them in orbit.

There is some gravity in space ,but since there is not that much you always float before you come back down.

i think sattelites stay in space because space has no gravity and anything you put in space will float and will stay up in space until someone takes that object out of space
Centripal force and velocity keeps space satellites in space.If one force is greater than the other than the satellite will fall back to Earth.But it stays in space because the forces are kept even.
