1. Log in to http://www.brainpop.com/ (waltersp - password: brainpop) and search for Circles. Watch the "Circles" video and try the quiz. Did you get at least 80% correct? (If not, watch the video again.) Write three facts about circles on your paper.
2. Now watch the "Pi" video. Be sure that you understand Pi by reviewing the video more than once if you need to do so. Now write three facts about Pi on your paper including its mathematical value.
3. Using a piece of string and a ruler, measure the diameter and circumference of eight (8) round objects of different sizes. Create a chart like the one pictured below and record your information.
Name the object.
Measure the Diameter and record.
Measure the Circumference and record
Divide the Circumference by the Diameter and record.
4. Leave a comment on this article of our blog to let me know what number you discovered when dividing. Feel free to add any other information about Pi you would like to share. (Note: The numbers may not be exact, but they should be close to each other if you measure carefully.)
5. Enjoy your day!

Pi Day is awesome I know some of the numbers 3.14159265358
Today we had pi day.It was a lot of fun.

I think pi is very interasting i love the number pi there are two kinds of pie mason
I like pi I Like learning the numbers I think it was really fun I liked measuring the bus tire.wILLIAM
Pi is interesting - it's something new I've leaarned that I will enjoy and be happy to know for the rest of my life!
I discovered the number if you divide is about 3.14.
Andrew
Pi is so interesting I did not know that Pi numbers exiting.
I discovered that the answer SHOULD be 3.14. Pi is pretty cool!:)

I learned pi numbers are 3.1415926........ and so on.

I thoght Pi was interesting, what I don't like is, it goes on forever. I would like to know the last number to be able to understand it better.
When you divide you get pi.I also think pi is a weird name for a greek word.
I LOVE PI (PIE) YUM YUM BY BRETT
the answer is 3.14 or pi. I LIKE PIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Rebecca(Heart)
I discovered 3.14 when dividing.Pi is a letter.The PI numbers go on forever.The only ones I know is 3.14159265358.
Anna
I found the number 3.14159 when I divided the cicumference by the diameter.
Will
When you multiply the diameter by pi, then divide the circumference by the diameter, you should get pi again! Pi day was awsome. Thank you for the oatmeal cream pies by the way.
!@#$%^&*(Abby)*&^%$#@!
When I looked for pi, the number I saw the most was 3. I knew that I was looking for pi though. I also know that Pi can only be derived using theoretical equations.
We got 3.14.pi is a irrational number .It never ends.It is not a ratio.you can not make a fraction out of pi.
We found 3.14 after dividing. Pi is an irrational number. It is a never ending decimal. It is so COOL!!!

I eventually got 3.14 which is pi.Pi is cool.:P
I got 3.14 when I divided.I also found out that Pi is the 16th letter in the Greek alphabet.Pi is approximately 3.14, but I can go farther like this:3.14159265358793832462.
The number I discovered when dividing is 3.14. Pi is an infinite number.
My answer is 3.14. It's probably yours, too. Pi is good, better, and best. PIE is also yummy!
Pie is great,pi not as much. But it was still pretty cool!!!
Whenever you divide the circumference of a circle with the diameter, you get about 3.14.You will never ever find the last digit of pi, it goes on forever.Another word for that is infinity. This is as far as i can count, 3.14159265358.That's as far as i can go. Once you kmow what pi is, you can share it with friends.

Did you know pi is the sixteenth letter in the Greek alphabet? Well, it is.
Pi has been here for years. I have even measured with pi.
Do you know some pi numbers? Well I do, so you're in luck.
They are 3.1415265358979323846. I don't know any more, yet any way. Mrs.Walters has been teaching us pi.Last week Ms. Lewis taught us.
LEXIE
Well, when we started this I kind of knew what pi was, but now I know that pi equals 3.14. It goes on forever and ever. The first eleven numbers are 3.14159265358. Area is pi r squared. Well, time to move on. Thats about my definition of pi.
I have learned that if you find the length around a circle and divide it by the length across the circle you should get 3.14 which is pi.

PI is an irrational number which means it cannot be put into a ration. It goes on forever. PI is 3.14. This is how you say PI forwards and backwards,3.14159265358 and 85356295141.3. I found out how to say it backwards after I heard it forwards. It's really not that hard to say it backwards. Mrs.Walters thought that was cool.

I discovered 3.14 or pi. I learned that pi goes on forever and ever. Here are some other numbers of pi you may not know 3.14159265385. Also, I found out that pi is the 16th letter of the Greek language.
Hmmmm. Pretty cool how there is no such thing as a perfect circle. I love pi and pie :)
3.14159265358979. That's all I know anyway!
look a bear!----> ("")(0.0)("")

See ya later.
I measured the distance around the circle on the gym floor and divided by the diameter and got 3.260689655172413793793103448275862
3.14 is what I got when I measured the circumference of a circle.
